Digital Illustration | 10”x10” Print

Inspired by the theme of “My Kind of Monster” and the playful shapes and motion of the monsters in my mash-up, I created a set of monsters with my “chii” aesthetic – cute, colorful and energetic. As I commonly do in my work, I utilized layering and transparency to create complexity and texture for each monster/character, which also helped in developing a story behind each of them to bring them to life in the eyes of those who view them. Together, they begin to build a sense of the world in which my kind of monsters might exist.
